Your Paths

yourpath“There is no right path. There are endless paths, and the differences in the paths are what make them more and more and more perfect.”

~Abraham Hicks

Recently I attended a lecture on Chaldean numerology. The premise of this metaphysical study is that each letter of the alphabet is assigned a number from 1-8 according to the sound vibration of that letter. By adding the numbers of your entire birth name, you can find dominate components of your life such as your strengths and life purpose.

I was fascinated to confirm my strengths are speaking, teaching, writing and performing; and amazed to look back to my past to see how these strengths played out in all my career paths. I started my career as a high school teacher, and then moved into financial sales and consulting, management and training and connecting college graduates with future employers and now coaching.   Several different paths – all encouraging growth in speaking and teaching. My training and sales presentations created the opportunity for writing and performing…all different paths… all refining my true life purpose.

Take some time to think back on all your “career paths” – even the early ones you may have considered as “just a job”.

  • What do you love to do?
  • What are your strengths and how are they “showing up” in your work?
  • How are those strengths growing?
  • What are the high points of each job?
  • How did you grow from each career that helped you prepare for your next career?
  • What is your overriding theme?
  • What is your life purpose?

We may take many paths to arrive are our soul destination.   There is an old Indian saying that really says it all …”All roads are good.”

“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.”

  1. For twenty or so years I have wondered what is my purpose. Neither my prayers nor intellect delivered an answer. I continue in my search, but am so frustrated by not knowing. I do think that my favorite things are speaking, teaching, and writing. Much like yours! Is there some way that you may help me.

    • Yes, Melinda, I can help. I will send you a personal email and we can set up a time to talk,.
