Are you Brave Enough to be Authentic?

“This above all: to thine own self be true” ~William Shakespeare
As Suzy Toronto says “Most of us are raised to fit in and be part of the status quo. As a result, we wind up attributing our accomplishments to the person we were pretending to be instead of the magnificent men and women we really are. We are honest, trustworthy, and benevolent…but are we authentic?”
Here are 2 steps to check out if you are being your true authentic self:
- Choose the values that are important to you. Knowing your values helps you to understand what drives you, what you enjoy, what inspires you. A life built around your values is more satisfying and meaningful. Values can change over time, so this may be a work in progress.
My current values are: balance, compassion, courage, creativity, freedom, happiness, love, passion, spirituality, strength and trust. What are your current values? Write them down and check them daily.
- Make a list of 5 activities you love and 5 goals you want to achieve. My favorite activities are: coaching, spending time with my family, friends and dogs, reading, learning and meditating. What are your favorite activities?
My goals are: increasing my coaching clients, speaking engagements, developing and teaching my spiritual programs, writing my 1st book and increasing abundance both personally and financially. What are your goals?
Look at the work you do and the relationships you have. Do your values align with your relationships and what you do? If not, are you brave enough to change? I bet you are, if you really want to change. Live your values, the ones that bring out your true self making you happy and most likely to achieve your goals.
As you embrace your authentic self, your confidence and self-worth will soar. You will have the courage to stand a little taller and reach a little further than ever before. Your example will encourage others to do the same. Go ahead…give it a try…I believe in you.
“Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else.” ~Judy Garland
Every day I strive to be my authentic self .
I live my life MY WAY!
