Where Do You Want to Go

The other day I was at the Humane Society (I know that is dangerous for me as it is really hard not to bring a furry friend home as a playmate for Lexi and Leo). I was watching a pile of cute little kittens running and playing. They were jumping, running this way and that, knocking into each other and even running around in circles. No direction, no rhyme or reason…just running…then after a while they just collapsed from exhaustion and fell asleep.

So cute, they had quite an audience; I bet a few of them found a new family that day. As I was standing there…it got me to thinking…how often do we just run around in circles without direction, until we drop from exhaustion? And…we’re not as cute as those kittens!

Do we really know where we want to go, what we really want as we are so often focused on what we don’t want?  Focusing on…I don’t want to go to work today, I don’t want to spend time with this person or that person, and I don’t want to… (fill in the blank).  The list goes on and on.  Where do you want to go?

In Christy Whitman’s recent newsletter, she helps us to get back on track.

When you go to take a trip somewhere, you know what you want before you go to buy the tickets, right?

Well, what if you went to a ticket counter at the airport and started to tell the sales person all the places you did not want to go. You know you don’t want to go to Australia, San Francisco, Hong Kong, (this could take a while). And you started listing all of those places that did not seem exciting to you.

The sales person would say to you, What DO you want? Where DO you want to go? What DO you want to experience?

In our lives we get so caught up on focusing on all the things that we don’t want. Even those of us who have been practicing the universal laws for some time are still telling ourselves, in the privacy of our own minds, what we don’t want.

And the focus on what we don’t want always gives way to feelings of lack and limitation, which never feel good.

The most powerful process that I still consistently do in my life is to focus on what I do want by asking myself these simple questions:

  1. 1. What do I want?
  2. 2. Why do I want it?
  3. 3. How will I feel when I have it?

 

And then, as a deliberate creator, I take the time, several times a day for at least 17-68 seconds, to practice that feeling vibration. This is the time it takes to shift a vibration (17 seconds, according to Abraham-Hicks); and when you go for 68 seconds, that is when the Law of Attraction starts to match that vibration and the manifestation starts to change.

It really is that simple. It is we, the energy generators, who need to direct our thoughts and therefore feelings towards what we do want and not what we don’t want.

I mean, if we are buying a ticket it is going to a place. And every time we are thinking and feeling, it is buying a ticket to a land where we want to go, or a land where we don’t want to go.

Where do you want to go?

  1. I like it focus on what you want not on what you don’t want simple stuff yet powerful insight. Now all I have to do is get on with it. I’ve been putting something off for years fear of failure, fear of success, fear of fear itself. Maybe it’s time I had the courage to be myself.
