What’s Your Elf Name?

“Happy is as Happy does” – Forrest Gump

I know this is a real departure from my usual “Happy Thoughts Thursday” topics. Guess the
hustle and bustle” of holiday preparations are getting to me.   Elizabeth Radlicki posted this fun game on Facebook several years ago and my family fell in love with it. It adds extra sparkle and humor to your holiday gatherings.

Find your Elf name below and write it on a name tag for each person to wear. It is guaranteed to bring smiles and laughter to your holiday parties. My Elf name is Bubbles Sugar-Socks. I still giggle every time I read it. My daughter’s names are Perky Mc Jingles and Bubbles Plum Pants. Let me know your Elf name. It’s going to be hard to top Bubbles Sugar-Socks.

Now…for something a bit more “spiritual”. This time of year, can also be emotionally draining and filled with stress. Who is the one “doing” all the holiday preparations, shopping, wrapping etc.? I bet it is you! So, during this busy time, remember to love yourself. Take a few minutes each day to do something for yourself. It can be as simple as going through the McDonald’s drive through for an ice cream cone (one of my favorite delights) while out shopping.

A wonderful bubble bath would be so relaxing, but truthfully, I never have had the “uninterrupted” time to enjoy one. But the ice cream cone always helped!

If you are starting to feel stressed, overwhelmed or just unhappy with yourself, try this process by Abraham-Hicks called “Positive Aspects”.

Ask yourself 3 questions:

  1. What do I like about me?
  2. Why do I love me?
  3. What are my positive aspects?

If you can write the answers that’s best, but either way just thinking about what you like and love about yourself will help you to start to feel better, your positive point of attraction will continue to improve and your relationship with yourself will become more satisfying.

Here’s a hint: If you are having trouble answering these questions about yourself, start by answering them for someone else you love, like your child, spouse, best friend, etc. Then it may be easier for you to think of your wonderful qualities.

Sending love and light from my house to yours…for a wonderful holiday!

“Love yourself like your life depends on it, because it does.” Anita Mooriani

Affirmations:

I allow time for myself during these busy holidays.

I truly love and appreciate myself.
