Stop Keeping Score

“A good life Is a collection of happy moments.” Dennis Waitley
When I first began working with the Law of Attraction, I was very, very serious. Having grown up with Dad’s work ethic, I was functioning in the theory, “No Pain, No Gain.” I was always checking out where I was on my “goals” completion scale. Being so serious didn’t allow much time for fun. I needed to lighten up and live more in the moment. I needed to enjoy the journey!
As we are creating our life, we have the choice to work ourselves to the bone and get there worn out, stressed and exhausted or we can focus and partner with the Universe while having a ball enjoying the ride.
How does your life look?
Are you constantly keeping score? Comparing yourself to others?
Looking for fun and adventure in your journey or just fighting your way through?
Are the thoughts and vibrations you are sending out filled with fun and excitement or stress and frustration?
You can still be wildly successful creating your awesome life while having fun, and not focusing only on the end result.
Here are some “words of wisdom” from Esther Hicks (with Abraham and Jerry Hicks) excerpted a presentation in Tucson, Arizona on 2/20/01.
“All is well, and you will never get it done. Life is supposed to be fun. No one is taking score of any kind, and if you will stop taking score so much, you will feel a whole lot better — and as you feel a whole lot better, more of the things that you want right now will flow to you.
You will never be in a place where all of the things that you are wanting will be satisfied right now, or then you could be complete — and you never can be.
This incomplete place that you stand is the best place that you could be. You are right on track, right on schedule. Everything is unfolding perfectly. All is really well. Have fun. Have fun. Have fun!”
Two weeks ago, I attended the 2017 Quantum Success in Business Weekend in San Diego. It was the best one I had ever attended, because for the first time, I was focusing on having fun, spending time with all my tribe, my spiritually minded QSCA friends, and soaking up all the wonderful new things Christy Whitman and guest speaker Lisa Nichols were sharing with us.
That’s a photo of Christy and me. Do we look serious, totally focused on the end goal? I hope not. We were having a ball, focusing only on the moment at hand and having fun.
This was the first meeting that I didn’t focus on writing pages and pages of notes, but rather, listening with an open heart and mind to the presenters. And guess what? I retained so much more and totally enjoyed the weekend.
With all the hustle and bustle, in our lives, we often need to take time to remember we will never get it all done, so stop trying to keep score and most importantly…as Esther syas, “Have Fun, Have Fun, Have Fun”.
Remember that old reggae song, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”? That’s a much better motto than “No Pain, No Gain.” Happiness is when your life fulfills your needs. It’s a feeling of contentment, just like finding your authentic self, and loving your life journey. It comes when you are ready to just let go and enjoy the ride. Are you ready relax and have fun?
“Fortunately, God doesn’t keep score the way we do.” Dr. Tim Kimmel and Darcy Kimmel
Today I focus on living in the moment.
Today I reduce my “To Do” list by 2 things allowing time to just have fun.
